  1. I really like this product. Like another review I read it has a little too much cushion but if you are using this for an infant it’s perfect. I have not put it into the car yet because my 9 month old daughter still uses her carrier. It’s very nice material and looks very comfortable. It also looks very easy to install rear facing. My daughters carrier is also Eddie Bauer and seems very similar to install. I would recommend this car seat for the price!

  2. The chair is great. The box came damaged but the seat was OK. Amazon was very helpful with my concern with the chair. I will be using this chair for my grandson.

  3. Not a big fan of this seat. It only harnesses to 40 pounds, which many kids will hit before the age of 4 (which is the absolute minimum age recommended for a booster seat – many kids aren’t mature enough for a booster until age 5 or 6). So, if your kid outgrows the harness before being ready for a booster, then you’re stuck buying another seat to harness longer. It is also difficult to install. Plus, it doesn’t make a very good booster either (often holds the belt too far from the child). The only good feature is that it can rear-face until 35 pounds.

  4. C. Helvie’s review below is spot on…I wish I had read it before my wife and I bought this total piece of junk. As a rule of thumb, it’s probably not best to buy a child’s seat from a company that’s normally known for men’s outdoor wear – Eddie Bauer should be ashamed of even allowing their name to be on this thing.

Like the review below says, this thing is almost impossible to fit rear-facing in any vehicle…to include my Suburban (let alone my wife’s Accord) – it is an absolute beast. Once I was able to finally get it shoehorned in, it look no less than three firemen at the local station two hours to devise a system of padding and bolstering to get it set at the recommended angle. Remember these are guys that are professionally trained and certified to install car seats…and they thought the seat was junk.

Once the thing is positioned, forget about getting it tightened down appropriately using LATCH or any kind of vehicle belt. The firefighters that helped us were physically unable to cinch it down with less than 2-3 inches of movement (1 inch is the maximum). This is due to the poor design of the belt path and the fact you have to remove all of the seat padding to strap the thing in.

Lastly…assuming you experience a miracle and are able to correctly install this abomination, it’s not terribly comfortable – it’s over-padded at all the wrong places.

So anyhow…I guess we learned a lesson for using brand name alone to pick something and not properly researching around. Which is why I just now just finished installing a Graco Nautilus…which was a pleasure to strap in and fits our vehicles perfectly. Graco provides a much better user experience over all, being that they are experts in car seats and not khaki shorts.

  5. I am not sure why everyone is complaining about installing this car seat. It took about 5 minutes no problems at all. We also have a Graco Nautilus which we LOVE and I think this seat equals it. We choose this seat because it reclines a bit more for our younger child to use until he is bigger and his head doesn’t flop down while sleeping. Seriously, it is a great seat and for the price there nothing better!
