I need to preface this by saying that I do not know that this is the exact model of Evenflo carseat that we have. However, I strongly recommend against buying any Evenflo carseat with these kinds of strap adjustments! Going anywhere is stressful, knowing that we will have to face trying to get our daughter in and out of this thing–sounds extreme, but true.
The straps lock up and are impossible to adjust properly, especially at this time of year when our 14 month old daughter needs a winter coat on some days and not on others. As a previous poster said, they also twist and get stuck, though this may be true of any seat. Having the adjustments on the bottom of both sides of the front of the seat is bad design: they are especially difficult to turn when the seat is in the rear-facing position and up against the seat of the car; you can’t see over the seat and your baby to adjust the knob furthest away from you–didn’t the people who designed this thing actually put it into a car? Britax does a much better job of having a single button in the front to press–it’s very easy to reach and adjust and a much better, smarter design overall.
The scary thing is is that it is so difficult getting our daughter strapped in that I seriously wonder whether she is truly secure and safe. When we are able to, we will be purchasing another Britax carseat despite the extra cost. We actually choose to use the car with the Britax carseat in it more often than the car with the Evenflo seat for the sole reason that it is easier to deal with getting our daughter in and out (and likely safer, as a result)!

We thought this would be a great carseat because the padding seemed so comfortable and we thought the straps would be easy to adjust. We’ve had this carseat since our daughter, now 2 1/2, turned 1.
It has been one annoyance after another. The loosening/tightening mechanism is difficult to use. Adjusting the straps to a higher slot is incredibly inconvenient because you have to unscrew the back of the carseat (!).
The straps are prone to twisting, as well.
My daughter spilled all over the carseat cover, so we had to wash it and it took me an hour to put everything back together again. Now the straps seem too tight, and nothing I can do seems to fix it. I consider myself to be a reasonably intelligent person– it shouldn’t be this difficult to adjust a carseat or to remove a carseat cover for laundering!
We are so annoyed that we went out and bought a Britax Marathon, which I wish we had purchased in the first place. The Britax’s straps are a cinch to adjust, don’t twist, we won’t have to use tools to take the cover off for laundering, and my daughter finds it to be more comfortable.

I’ve owned this seat for a year and bought it for its safety rating and looks. Unlike other reviewers, I found the straps easy to adjust.
Its one major design flaw is that the seat cover is extremely difficult to remove, should you need to put it through the laundry. It requires you to unscrew 6 screws from the back panel, in order to access and disassemble the shoulder straps so you can then thread them through the cover. This is no fun when you have a toddler who regularly suffers from car sickness.
My wife has a Britax Marathon – I wish I’d got one for my car.

I ordered this seat thinking I was ordering the Triumph Advance DLX. Primary differences appear to be the infinite slide harness feature and an extra tilt position on the Advance . I decided to keep this one for our second vehicle.
It seems to be a decent seat and my son (10 months, 23 lb and 32 inshes tall) rides comfortably in it (with the insert removed) With the insert it is a little tough to get things fastened.
My only issue with it really is that in the rear facing position with the latch system hooked up, the latch strap is right against the knob used to tighten the harness. The knob is also right up against the back of the vehicle (Toyota 4-Runner) seat. This combination makes access and turing the tightening know dificult. I also own the Triumph Advance DLX and have that in my wife’s 4-runner and it does not have the dsame issue.
Overall I think the Advance is the better seat and I ended up paying about the same for it as I did for this one.

I loved this carseat so much I bought a second one for our second car. These car seats are great. I did my research before I bought and consumer reports has this listed as the safest carseat they reviewed. Yes there are two adjustments on this carseat, one on each side. It does not mean you have to adjust both. It mean no matter what side of the car this seat is on you can adjust it easily. And no you don’t have to use a screw driver to adjust the height of the straps, you pull down the seat cover and the tabs to the adjustment door. I have never had a problem with the straps getting twisted up. But I will say this, it happens to my husband all the time because he doesn’t take his time, he just wants to get it done. So after I strap in our oldest I have to go and adjust our other daughter, which I do quickly and I am normally sitting back in the car befor him. And I loved these seat so much we bought a third for our second daughter with the easier height adjustments and the cover comes off without haveing to unscrew anything. I almost for got the best part of the evenflo carseat. The cover is MACHINE WASHABLE. Most carseat covers are not.
