I just bought this for my first baby so I don't have much to compare it to. Both of our vehicles have the latch system (04 Mitsubishi Outlander and 04 Honda Accord) and it was pretty easy to install, didn't take my husband more than 10 or so minutes to figure it out. We have the bases in both cars in the middle back seat. On the Honda there is a bump in the middle and I think because of that the base actually does move side to side when turning. It seems very stable and safe in the Outlander though. It is, however very difficult to carry. It is heavy and plain awkward shaped. Also, my son is 4 months, 28 " and I'm already going to have to buy a convertible since this seat is only up to 29" (although he's above 100th percentile in height so this problem wouldn't affect everyone). Probably also because of his height , his head would slouch over due to the angle of the seat when he fell asleep (of course you don't know what size baby you'll have until he's born!) but I wouldn't recommend it for longer or heavier babies for that reason. I also have the stroller that goes with it and that is very easy and convenient to use.

Rating: 1 / 5 - I used an earlier version of this Car Seat and loved it. I did hate that my son got too tall to continue the use of this carseat untill he turned one. I will by an updated one because of the new consumer reports for my next child.
Rating: 5 / 5 - So just some common sense that we didnt have when purchasing this being that we are new parents. I am not saying this is a bad product or unsafe seat. Its a great seat, BUT please take careful considering of the following which we missed:
This car seat, as well as ALL the SnugRide series are only rated for 5 - 22 pounds, Max of 29 inches and under the age of 1.
The SnugRide 32 is rated for 5 - 32 pounds and under the age of 1.
So now, our baby is 8 months old, 20 pounds and 29 inches! He is too big for the snugride!!!!! He is not old enough to legally ride in a forward facing car seat! I have to buy the SnugRide 32 now!!!!! HE WILL ONLY BE IN THIS NEW CAR SEAT FOR 4 MONTHS!!!!
I feel totally misled by the company. They are forcing me to buy another car seat that will really only last 4 to 6 months. This is a total waste of money. Had I known this, I would have just spent the money on the SungRide 32 and had an easy transition to the nautilius 3 in 1.
Oh and also, The base on the SnugRide is totally different than the one on the SnugRide 32. So you need to purchase a new base, or multiple bases if you have more than one car....
On this alone I give this seat one star! Get the SnugRide 32 and dont waste money on a seat that cannot support your child untill they need a forward facing seat.

- Where can I find a convertible car seat in these kind of colors?
Why don't you look for a car seat cover for the seat you currently have instead of replacing it. E-Bay has tons of them listed for a fair price. Some of the E-Bay stores will even let you custom order them with the fabrics and colors you want. - Britax Marathon Carseat – All Star Blue
So many convertibles car seat to choose from but the Britax Marathon name kept coming up in every online review as well as every online forum.I was very pleased that the Marathon can handle a child up to 65lbs in a five point harness. No other seat that I reviewed offered this feature. I also liked the fact that the seat was very easy to use and install with the latch and tether strap.
My son fit nicely at age 7 months and the transition from infant car seat was very pleasant for him as he did not like his Peg Perego Primo Viaggio.
The price for the Britax Marathon retails for $270.00 everywhere. However the price differed tremendously when I shopped online. I did find traveling tikes.com to have the most competitive price at $220.00. Their price included free shipping and I payed no sale tax as I lived outside California.
They offered a great selection of colors to choose from and had the color I wanted in stock.I believe I made the best choice after very carefull review and hope that this add if published help those whom review my comments.
Rating: 5 / 5 - Britax Marathon Carseat – All Star Blue
My son out-grew his Graco SnugRide after about 5 1/2 months, and at first I purchased him a much cheaper convertible seat, and I quickly learned that it would not be sufficient. I have been borrowing a friends Marathon for a few months now, and I finally purchased this All Star seat last week, I am VERY happy with it!First of all, the Marathon is EXTREMELY safe, and ranked very well in crash-test ratings... which is always very important. It is very easy to install (rear or forward facing), and as long as you have a medium-sized to large car (I have the Honda Odyssey) it should fit with room for other passengers as well. Also, the seat pattern is a very masculine print, which is what I wanted. At the same time it is very comfortable and plush, which means he has no problem napping in it. The cover is easy to wash (which I found out the hard way only a day after I purchased the seat) and it comes out of the washer looking like new. The seat straps do not tangle (VERY important when you have a squirmy toddler) and are extremely easy to adjust. I was also happy to see that it is easy for adults to buckle and un-buckle the seat belts, but for an average toddler, it would be nearly impossible.
All in all, since my son LOVES his seat, and since I am very satisfied with it, I award the Marathon seat 5 stars.
