Why to Use Car Seat Belts
A safety belt, also known as the seat belt is a safety feature designed to ensure driver and vehicle passengers against injury in a collision. A typical car seatbelt consists of a lap belt and shoulder belt. Lap belt rests on the driver's pelvis while the shoulder belt lies on the chest.
These are by far the most important safety feature, but unfortunately many people simply ignore the usage just because they are uncomfortable. It's always good to remember that safety belts take only a few seconds to wear but death is forever. The main task of the safety belt is to minimize damage during a collision by spreading the stopping power in the most rugged and durable body.
During a sudden stop, seat belts keep the driver flying through the windshield and dashboard, due to inertia. If the car is accelerating at 60 miles per hour, and suddenly there is a stop, the driver of the car flew through the windshield at 60 miles per hour, if not wearing the seatbelt. If the driver is thrown from the vehicle with a force so high, then it may be seriously injured or even killed.
Safety belts actually help to exert force on the driver and other passengers to stop the action of inertia and the protection of passengers from serious injury. Therefore, it is always best to take a few seconds to buckle up and save his own life.
The reason that car seat belts secure the driver and passengers of the lesions because these are powerful and have the ability to extend and retract. This means that safety belts help drivers to lean forward while the belt remains tight. But in the case of a collision, the same belt ensures the driver firmly in place. Being in a place stricter prevents the driver from being ejected through the windshield of the car.
In India, almost 50% of traffic accidents resulting in fatalities is because people do not use seat belts. It is believed that in 2002 nearly about 7153 people have been ejected from the vehicle and died.
Today, all new cars available in India are loaded with safety belts, but sadly many car drivers have complaints about these belts. Some say these are uncomfortable, some say that they wrinkle their clothes, and some just do not feel like wearing and so on. Whatever the case, much as travel, wearing a safety belt is as important as saving his own life.

Automobile Safety For Children
Car accidents are responsible for injury or death of thousands of children and young people every year. Many of these events could be prevented through proper use of seatbelts and other safety features of automobiles.
Outside a car, it is important that children know what moving vehicles can be dangerous. When playing outside, or chasing balls or other objects into the street without looking for traffic, and never run between parked cars on the street, since it is difficult for drivers to see them. Teaching children these behaviors at an early age is an excellent way to prevent future accidents.
In the car, there is a set of rules without effort that new young drivers and passengers should always follow. The way to prevent more serious injury is always just a seat belt. Even if nobody else has one in the car and the trip is just around the block, it is important to use one independently. In a case like this would not be over emphasized that all other safety belts and to ensure their safety.
When wearing a seatbelt, older children should be high enough to sit without slouching with his feet on the ground. The return of the shoulder belt system will not fit most children until they are about 4'9 "tall and weighs about 80 pounds. The abdominal belt should fit low and tight across the thighs, while the shoulder should fit over the shoulder and chest. While it may be more comfortable than ever, put the shoulder belt under the arm or behind the child's back.
Reckless behavior in and around cars is also a major contributor to injury and mortality. Never stick your arms, legs, or any other body part through the window of a moving car. If another vehicle passing too close can cause serious injury. One of the most dangerous, but easily avoidable behaviors drunk driving. Never attempt to drive after drinking, and never travel with someone who has been drinking. It is important to always have a designated driver, or at least someone to keep keys hidden.
New and young drivers cause many accidents because they may have not learned to drive a car properly, can lead to a fast speed to the conditions, and are more likely to engage in risky behaviors. Although commonly given a negative image, being a driver's seat can save lives by telling a reckless driver to pay attention or slower.
For very young children, even more information to consider related to accidents and safety. In general, the backseat is the safest place in a car accident, and anyone under 12 must travel there, especially if the vehicle has a passenger side bag. Babies should be placed in back seats of cars face in the back seat until at least 1 year of age and about 20 pounds. Front-facing seats are acceptable after this point. In any case, always read the manual restraint for the proper and effective installation and use. It is recommended that children use a safety seat until they are at least 40 pounds and then use a booster seat that will help the adjustment of the system back and shoulder.
It is important to remember that the injury or death from a car accident can happen to anyone, not just children and young drivers. Always promoting safer behavior near the roads, behind the wheel, and also the benefits of life-saving use of seat belts and safety seats correctly.

Booster Seats Protect Children
A child who has recently passed child restraint seat should not move directly to a seat and regular safety belt. Seat belts are not designed for a child weighing 80 pounds and will not provide the type of protection that a child needs to remain restricted. A car seat that meets federal safety standards is needed to help children make the transition from car seat for a child car seat normal.
Unfortunately, most of the 20 million children in the U.S. which should be in a safety seat in the car are not. While the worst is for a child to be in a car with no restrictions, restraint evil may also pose a serious risk.
A child with a poorly installed seat belts for adults can keep serious, life-threatening injuries, in addition to being ejected from a vehicle during an accident. Using only a seat belt, children are 3. 5 time more likely to suffer significant injury, and four times more likely to suffer a head injury. An adult seat belt size is only 60 percent less efficient than a car seat.
A lap belt may rise in the stomach and neck and face may be covered by the shoulder belt of a passenger toddler. Children are not only safer, but they can see better and more comfortable in a car seat that allows the seat belt to fit and function as intended. A seat accomplishes this by raising the child so that they are high enough that the shoulder belt and fit properly. A lap belt should sit low on the body, being in the top of the thighs and do not cover the stomach. The shoulder belt must come across the center of the chest and collarbone or shoulder. This helps protect the internal organs, spine and head injuries when a car accident.
Does your child need a booster seat?
How to know if your child needs to be in a booster seat? Children who have passed a child safety seat should ride in a safety seat until they are at least eight years, or four feet, nine inches tall. In general, children from four to eight years of age and 40 to 80 pounds should be in a booster seat. A child who is smaller than average may have to sit in a safety seat until they are ten years or more.
Clues that a safety seat is necessary to include an inability to sit all the way back against the seat back, the inability to bend the knees comfortably at the edge of the seat belt does not cross the child's shoulder between the neck and arm, a lap belt that sits low on the abdomen, touching the hips and thighs, and the inability to make the child feel comfortable and stay seated like this for the entire trip.
Booster seats are really safe?
Many parents and caregivers incorrectly believe that booster seats can not be sure. The concerns are that booster seats are loose and unstable to be suitable for not preventing a child in an accident, but these are unfounded.
Children should stay in her car seat safety as long as possible before moving to a booster seat. Once your child reaches the upper weight or height allowed for her seat, as indicated on the label and the instruction manual for the seat), or their ears have reached the top of the seat, it's time for move to the seat.
Booster seats, used in the back seat is held in place by a seat belt, and is used with lap and shoulder belts, as an adult uses. They are not tied to the car as a child safety seat. High back and backless booster seats are available and should be used until your child can correctly fit in lap and shoulder belts. Never use a seat with a lap belt is only as serious injury can result.
If your child was injured as a result of inefficient car seat may have a legal claim. Contact a lawyer from unsafe products or car accident immediately for more information.
